Making Tassels and Sage Bundles

Image 1.
Here I stand upon human man to share a heart of gold, for all to be told, that blessings clear, the places that are near, to shed a peace a soul, upon solid gold/told.

Relatives of the Rainbow,

Today we learn how to tie tassels and sage bundles with two types of knots, a slip knot and a square knot. The first thing to do is to get your cotton string out. The best is a natural grass type of string, hemp, cotton even rayon. However it's abundantly available as cotton string. There are variable colors and sizes, just be sure, the dyes are natural, because these are to be used with a fire blessings or smudging of space, to cleanse and purify your surroundings and those relative (spirits unseen or seen, it's relativity, near and far, but within and also without). The typical string is best and it's a cord, meaning it is twisted together. Example of typical cotton string is in Image 1.

Image 2.
Start to tie the string around two fingers to start to create the tassel. Image 2.

I bless this string and all it brings, the tassels that remind me of God, the blue of me, the gentle seas, that gift a heart full of love!

Tomorrow, I feel the waves, yesterday I felt the daze, but today, I gift my soul, the Present will be purified and bold. Blessings to the string that holds!

Image 3.
Continue winding around both fingers and spread your fingers a bit, in order it will be loose and easy to slip off your fingers, otherwise, you will have trouble removing the cotton wound. This is seen in Image 3.

Once you have your amount of winds you want and this depends on your size of your tassel. This wounded around seven times. Remember your size by how many circular obits around your fingers. Remember, that your tassel will hold double, once it is folded, this example will be 14 eventually. Then later as it gets cut, it will be four times more or 28 strands. You might think about how many strands you want. This will help guide you to your size. I usually go by feel, but it helps if you are doing more than several to have a system. Write your system or number of circulars, to keep track of what you did, in order to repeat it again.

Image 4.
In Image 4. you are able to cut from the ball of string and place it on the work surface. I am using a shoe box cover, because it is contained and all in one place, as it can get confusing if all things aren't in one place.

As you can see, we have cut two more strings in Image 4. The shorter vertical piece is underneath (be sure it's underneath) and the lower curved piece of string is on the top. This prepares you for the next step.

Image 5.
In Image 5. you will place the circular wound string on top of these two strings laid out on your work surface.

I bless my space and all that's nice, to share a will of God. I am sovereign, the place we run, within and held with love. I share this sacred space to fulfill.

Glory to man, who leans on the chime, of freedom in their hearts and lambs in their souls, to gift the highest honor, the bow of trust we share, because the tassel tells us, we are free in the winds and we dare (to fight for love, with blessings to cleanse our souls, our flesh and our spaces we share).

Image 6.
In Image  6. you will tie together the vertical ends, until it is completely tight and secure. Try to stay in the middle, because there is less waste. You want your string aligned. In this image, many of the strings are cascaded, to allow you to see what is going on.

Sweet is thee, who rides the seas, the blue of you and me, relatives in the breeze!

Image 7.
In Image 7, you can notice it looks like a bow. Just be sure to keep your ends tidy (neat and orderly). At this point you should have six ends of cotton string.

The sweet bliss of the kiss, the blessings that are missed, because it's the six that gifts us the grit, the lessons we learn, turn into a churn, the birth of a child, the image of a smile.

Image 8.
In Image 8. start to bring the longest strings to the top, away from the rest of the bundle. Four extending strings ends and two loops of cotton string. You are preparing to fold down.

Tie a ribbon round the soul that seeks, a longing that keeps, the winding road that brings, the loving happy heart of what we need to bee, the heart of a dream, the cleansing of the steam, the place our hearts greet. Blue road of heaven set us free, down upon our knees, the great solid foundations, the blessings and springs (of abundance).

Image 9.
Be sure to pull tightly, but not too tight, just secure. These two longer strings will be attached to the sage bundle later on.

In Image 9. bring all the rest downwards, because this is going to be your tassel, the four ends and two circles. This will be your six or crystalline blessing. With the two extending tie strings, that makes eight, the holy of the tassel.

We bless the sacred eight directions of the Morning Star, where we stand tall, within these great halls (ninth position), for seeking is meeking and humble is streaking the sky with multicolor of the rain (bowing), where treasures lie at the end of the rainbow. Let us snow (offer blessings to each other).

Image 10.
As you can see in Image 10. you can find you must hold around the whole tassel bundle gathering. There will be a bulb at the top of the tassel (almost) and extending upwards are your attachment strings. You are getting prepared to tie around this bulbous area.

There lies the seed that blooms and grows, to bring us back to our sacred toes. There we walk upon this land, must be holy to stand.

Image 11.
Image 11. shows the completed section, with the incomplete tassel hanging downwards. At this point, you must cut another string as you can see in the image preparing you for the next step.

I bless this world and all that is still, to bring us all to a holy place, the state of mind where love is bind, to those who bless this world.

Image 12.
In image 12. you lie the newly cut string under where the bulb  would be. For you will be circling around the bulb with this string.

Can the world know the greatness sound, the sound of angels get us along, the bringing of hope to those who cope, need only bless with the holy smoke.

Image 13.
In Image 13. you will first tie the string and pull it tight. Only half of a square knot or as if you have half completed tying your tennis shoes. Then once tight, you will start to bind around making circular motions going both directions, one end of the string at a time. You will move towards Image 14.

Image 14.
Go around the bulb until you have completed both turnings. Leave enough string to tie it off. It should look like this.

Feel the curl the washing wheel, that gifts our hearts into an open land, where all are free to understand. We are heaven's gate, the place that lives in our nape (flesh connected to our soul).

Image 15.
You will then move to Image 15. that shows you that a scissor head should be able to fit through the tassel almost completed.

As we complete the open sweep, we find the will of man, the safety known that we do sow, the great heart of each mankind. Let us purify and bind. We are grateful for sacred blessings, to hold each heart to thine.

Image 16.
In Image 16. start to tie a square knot. One fold at a time or one tie at a time, half a square knot. Tie this tight.

Blessings to the knot at hand, where springs that holds us to an open land. We are the place within our hearts, where heaven gifts all her hands, binding us together for the sake of man.

Image 17.
Continue to Image 17. and you will find that you can tie another half knot, finishing the square knot. Pull and tie tightly.

Bind us together and shine us forever, then love will bring us holy divine, the sacred smoke that will bind.

Image 18.
In Image 18. you are able to cut the edges off the tied string, which created the square knot like this.

This will be your first wasted material, place in a throw away container, the two cut away strings shown as in Image 18.

Image 19.
In Image 19. the tassel ends are about to get cut. Place your scissors as shown and cut tightly, pulling the tail end (left), the tassel tie string while cutting towards the other end (right). You want to allow the tassel's ends to be a long as possible. Pull tightly at both ends, to ensure the longest strands for your cutting.

Image 20.
In Image 20. shows what it should look like after cutting.  The tassel is laid flat.

Trim our hearts, we feel the arc, the willing bind we perceive. Because a heart needs all it's parts, to know which way to weave. For we are shown, the way of blown could be a safety alarm. Sow we trust our hearts, to be a part, to learn to bind with others who need.

Image 21.
In Image 21. we can start to trim the ends, as you can see on the right of the tassel.

What is left is the first cutting, the long strings (above) and the second cuttings the short cuttings (below) are all to the right.

I bless the sacred nine directions, the place where the sun does set. Within our hearts, we are part of the great journey of love, a place for Doves (peaceful warriors)!

Image 22.
In Image 22. you want to trim one more time. As you can see that there is now a third pile in the waste pile.

Your tassel is completed and will look beautiful at the left under the cotton string roll.

Bless the sign of those who bind, the grateful of this time. We are trusted to bring the souls of those to bring the heart of thine. One land, the rainbow stand, the bringing of love to shine.

Image 23.
In Image 23. you will find sage sticks to the left. Next moving right lies the tassel just made. Next moving right are sage sticks with whole sage leaves. And to the furthest right, sage shake leaves, left over.

At the beginning of your sage stock or one (1) pound (lb.) bag of whole sage on sticks, you will tend to insert sage sticks to reinforce the sage bundle or smudge stick. Mostly to ensure a good smoke from the sage bundle/stick you are creating next. However your supply that you want to build from will be those like the middle of the Image of 23 and right of the tassel. You will build your stick using these. When you get to the end of your supply, you can insert smaller piece of sage like those on the right. Make sure that you tie them tightly or they can fall away, causing a fire hazard. And what is eventually left over, can be used in a metal or ceramic bowl to burn for purification purposes.

Image 24.
In Image 24. you will want to start the end of the cotton string, by creating a slip free knot, because at the end of your building and tying you will be creating a slip knot to be able to tighten and bind together, the smudge stick or sage bundle at this point. This is preparation before creating the sage bundle. Notice that all of this is connected to the cotton string roll.

Image 25.
In Image 25. you begin to create a sage bundle in your hand, always holding the bundle in your hand, because there is not tying as of yet. This become vital to ensure a good bundle. Look for pieces that will fit together well and tightly to each other. Remember you will be tying it together and tightening the bundle as you pull to and fro in the tightening process. This is much like tying a roast, but this will be a sage bundle.

Image 26.
In Image 26. you can notice that I have continued to build my sage bundle in my hand. I have added short pieces where they are needed and long pieces, making sure that the end are sticks without leaves to become a hand hold and where you will tie the tassel to your smudge stick as we get further along.

Be patient and do not hurry this process. The more and more you make, it will get easier and easier. Practice makes perfect. Just trust yourself. In this image however, I have little sage sticks with whole leaves in place (end of supply) and thus you can see the sticks facing inside the palm at you, but as we tie it together, it starts to look more and more like a sage bundle and eventually a sage smudge stick.

Image 27.
Image 27. While holding the sage bundle in your hand. I use my left hand to build within my palm. The right hand must now create the slip knot. Create a loop that is secondary, because you will be slipping this inside the loop at the end. By the way, you often start knitting this way, the very first knot.

Image 28.
In Image 28. you can see how it slips into the loop at the end of the string. This will become your slip knot, and start your tying down the sage bundle.

Bless the string and all it brings, the holy and the grail, the perfect revelation seams, that show us how to whale, the freedom of the sacred seas, the heart of you and me (true blue of the relative breeze).

Image 29.
In Image 29. You will not be concerned about the loop at the end, for you will only be concerned for the slip knot now created.

In construction after this point. Will complete on New Years Day 2012. Just wanted to get the images out to Grandmother Comfort in the Wind, who will be gifting to Rainbow Warriors of Prophecy and those who ask, to learn how to cleanse their spaces.
